For Studio JUX, the year started really nice, and we are looking forward to a very busy period. Besides from the Green Fashion Competition, that we are still busy with, there is another fair that we are going to present our autumn-winter 2012 collection at: Who’s Next Pret-a-Porter in Paris from the 21st of January until the 24th.

Together with other 30 Dutch Fashion Labels we will be promoting green Fashion in the “Green Orange” hall. This is an initiative of Wave-Up marketing and promotion and the Ministry of International Economic Affairs.

The fair is split in 6 sectors: Fame, Private, Mr. Brown, Premiere Classe, Le Cube and Mess around. Each hall has different fashion items and brands to offer.

Fame features the top creative international women’s ready-to-wear brands, Private hosts top international women’s ready -to-wear labeles, Mr. Brown offers more then 300 textile, shoe and accessory brands, Premier Classe gatheres the fashion accessory designers, Le Cube presents leather goods and in the Mess Around hall you can be informed about shoe and B2B events.

It is a great change for us to exhibit our collection next to our fellow colleagues, and we are very excited to meet everyone at the fair.

Yesterday our hard work and efforts have been rewarded, as we have been chosen as one of the finalists at the competition within the first category of established companies.

It was a great joy for all our team members and we could hardly believe we made it, when Holly Louise Syrett read the jury’s quote about us: “The playful and colorful designs are striking. The jury beliefs that this company can have a true impact on the communication of green labels and that it has a thorough understanding of biodiversity and sustainability”

In our category 3 other brands have been awarded: L’Herbe Rouge, SPRB, STAT Divisions. We will all now have to update our business plans, pitch our business idea and most exciting of all we will get the chance to present our collection in a fashion show.

There will be again a very busy period for us, but we are looking forward to be in this second part of the Green fashion competition.

End of September the JUX-team left the Dutch capital to exhibit in Paris at the Ethical Fashion Show. These little JUX trips are always exciting and funny, but also exausting. You always leave without knowing what to expect.The Ethical Fashion Show offered us a great setting to exhibit, right next to the Seine, very light and open.

Also the shows they organised were nice and entertaining, here you can have a look at their Couture Runway 2010. You can see some of our creations at 7:30 minutes. At the end of the exhibition, all the exhibiting designers could win prizes. There were actually three prizes of which one was the “Grand Prix”, the Ethical Fashion Award 2010 from La Redoute. All the exhibitors were asked to come to attend the awards show. Nobody knew anything about who will win beforehand. So we went there without any clue what was going to happen. The whole show was in French, while we were trying to understand everything, they announced the winner of the prize. Suddenly I said “Hey, that´s us, they said JUX”. Everybody was looking at us, because they got it before we got it and we looked quite surprised not really knowing if I heard it right.

We had to go on stage to receive the prize, everybody congratulated us, as we still did not have an idea what the prize meant for us. After we realized that La Redoute offers us the possibilty to design an exclusive fall/winter 2011 collection for them. La Redoute is publisher of the biggest fashion catalog in France and number 3 worldwide. Studio JUX can reach a million audience. They offer a platform to sustainable fashion brands in the 21 countries they are operating. The jury called us “pure”, “comfortable” and “suitable for the market”.

What a succesful trip to Paris, it certainly was worth the effort and we definitely deserved a glas of champagne!

June 4 and 5 JUX will also be there and we will present our new accessory line. So are you curious?

JUX will be present there and sell its sexy summer collection. The entrance is free and it will start at 12 o´clock until 18 o´clock. You can also discover a lot of other art, fashion, bio food and kids stuff. So spring is coming and its shopping time, go and get your JUX piece for this season!

They sell clothes and accessories for women and men created by young designers. JUX will also be available there, as also a lot of other creative and young brands. They will be open from monday till saturday and special openings on sundays. For more information have a look at their site.

The fair will take place at the Jardin des Tuileries from 9am to 19pm. More than 20 countries will represent their collections and JUX is already excited to go there. The exhibiton has two floors and our standnumber will be 113! We will show our fall-winter collection 10/11.

Since two weeks I´m working for Studio JUX and I had the chance to follow the team to the fair in Copenhagen. As a newcomer in the fashion world it was very exciting for me to go there. Already by thinking about what I´m supposed to wear I got excited and couldn´t wait to experience Copenhagen. When we came there we had to build the stand and the next day the fair officially started. Everybody was dressed up and I did a special effort to pimp my make-up to not immediatly jump out as a “newcomer”! It started quiet and I had my time to observe how everything works. Before I studied all the fabrics, materials and what I could tell about JUX. Then the moment came that I got my chance to tell someone interested the story behind our brand. What a challenge, to be convincing, switch between the languages and to also ask questions. But I managed it and even got the time to shop around a bit, Copenhagen is really a precursor in Fashion and it was amazing to see how trendy the danish people are.

Interesting experience to get a look behind the glamour world!
